A Professional Development Guide to Integrate the Internet and Multimedia into 1st to 9th Grades Curriculum Alignment

AbstractThis paper is to elaborate the implementation of Internet and multimedia to meet the challenge of 1st to 9th grades curriculum alignment by two 16-hour workshops. The workshops are Application of Network and Internet Instruction and Application of Multimedia Instruction. The integration approach of Internet and multimedia into curriculum provides an authentic environment for elementary and junior high school teachers develop updated technological skills and Internet resources in a meaningful context and consequently transferring their new technology learning to their own interesting and relevant topics. After the workshop, the learning indeed helps them pull together their project into an authentic presentation to be proud of. A survey is administered to assess each learner's perception of moving their future curriculum design into multimedia and digital classroom. Results indicate that the learners obtain practical knowledge of how technology learning works toward the instruction.
