"Duihua" (pronunced dùei-chuà) means dialogue. Duihua-mit China im Dialog, published by China-Infostelle Hamburg is a newsletter and a joint project of Evangelische Mission in Solidarität (EMS), Evangelisches Werk für Diakonie und Entwicklung – Brot für die Welt, Evangelisches Missionswerk in Deutschland (EMW). Editor Dr Katrin Fiedler. China Information Desk was established in 1996, it collects and disseminates information about contemporary Chinese society. While its focus is on religion, in particular Christianity, the China Information Desk also follows China's cultural, social and economic development. Specifically, the China Information Desk aims to broaden the views provided by mainstream media on contemporary China by taking up alternative themes and issues. As a body that regularly translates and publishes China-related news and views, the China Information Desk provides a forum for Chinese voices in Germany. Besides working with the academic world, the China Information Desk also cooperates with partners from non-governmental, religious and cultural organizations.
