Abstract
The present analysis focuses on the discursive and semantic processing of emotions relating to intercultural practices in the texts of the Council of Europe. These texts, addressed to trainers and learners, propose a codification of the emotions. However, an in-depth analysis shows that there are discursive and semantic ambiguities, along with a certain lack of a clear-cut distinction between ethics and emotions. This leads to the problematization of emotions as dealt by the Council of Europe. In fact, notewithstanding the intercultural education premises based on the individual understanding of the emotions, then there is a sliding down the axiological ethics, as a universal requirement that exceeds the individual dimension.
