Materials and methods: A qualitative study was conducted using a previously validated semi-structured interview. Results: In all, 278 interviews were carried out and 64% of those surveyed were unfamiliar with LAD. Among those who are familiar with LAD (n = 100), only 43% know what it stipulates regarding organ donation. Conclusion: There is an evident lack of knowledge about LAD, because the public has not been duly informed.
