Letter from Nelson L. Newsom, Executive Secretary of the Young Men's Christian Association of Columbus, Ohio, to Nimrod Booker Allen, written on May 21, 1963. In the letter, Newsom announces that the organization's new facilities will have their formal dedication on May 26, 1963. Newsom thanks Allen for his leadership in the organization and invites him to be at the ceremony. Allen was an advocate for interracial understanding in Columbus, Ohio, and across the United States. He organized the Columbus Urban League, as well as Frontiers of America, which developed African American leadership in the Americas.Date
