Abstract

<p>Istoria dezvoltării regiunii este strâns legată de procesele de formare a organizaţiei bisericeşti ortodoxe pe teritoriul <br />Găgăuziei moderne. Astăzi puţini locuitori ai Găgăuziei (Gagauz-Yeri) se consideră atei sau reprezentanţi ai cultelor <br />religioase, care nu au nicio legătură cu creştinismul. Majoritatea populaţiei se identifică, într-o măsură mai mare sau mai <br />mică, drept urmaşi ai învăţăturii lui Hristos. La nivel ştiinţific şi educaţional, importanţa rolului istoric al ortodoxismului <br />în viaţa poporului găgăuz este, în general, elucidată. Cu toate acestea, istoria evoluţiei Bisericii Ortodoxe pe teritoriul <br />Găgăuziei moderne rămâne slab investigată şi necesită cercetări temeinice. În acest articol ne propunem să conturăm <br />spectrul de probleme principale în cadrul temei alese şi să determinăm actualitatea lor.</p><p><strong>ON THE ROLE AND IMPORTANCE OF THE ORTHODOX IDENTITY FACTOR IN THE HISTORY OF GAGAUZIANS IN THE ATU GAGAUZIA (GAGAUZ YERI). GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS </strong></p><p><br />The history of region development is closely linked to the processes of formation of the Orthodox Church on the <br />territory of modern Gagauzia. Today, few people in the region of ATU Gagauzia (Gagauz Yeri) classify themselves as <br />atheists or members of religious denominations that are not related to Christianity. The vast majority of the population <br />identify themselves, in varying degrees, as the followers of Christ’s teaching. On scientific and educational level, the <br />importance of the historical role played by the orthodoxy in the fate of the Gagauz people is generally elucidated in <br />modern historiography. However, the history of the evolution of the Orthodox Church on the territory of modern <br />Gagauzia remains poorly studied and requires further research. This issue looks especially topical at the background of <br />the ideological vacuum formed in the cultural life of the regional community after the collapse of the Soviet state and its <br />official atheist policy. The article aims to outline the main range of issues within the chosen topic and to determine the <br />extent of its relevance in our time.</p>
