Abstract
"En febrero de 2003, apareció publicado en el magazine del New York Times un relato que causó un notable impacto: “Unspeakable Conversations”. Escrito por la abogada Harriet McBryde Johnson (1957-2008), relata la relación de la autora con el conocido filósofo Peter Singer. La autora era una conocida abogada en Charleston (Carolina del Sur), que colaboraba activamente con el movimiento en defensa de los derechos de los discapacitados en Estados Unidos. La ética utilitarista de Singer es duramente criticada y rechazada por los discapacitados; según Singer, no sólo los fetos sino también los bebés discapacitados pueden ser evitados" ["In February 2003, he was published in the magazine New York Times a story that caused a remarkable Impact: "Unspeakable Conversations". Written by lawyer Harriet McBryde Johnson (1957-2008), tells the relationship of the author with the noted philosopher Peter Singer. The author was a well known lawyer in Charleston (South Carolina), who actively collaborated with the movement in defense of the rights of the disabled in United States. Singer's utilitarian ethics is severely criticized and rejected by the disabled; according to Singer, not only infants but also fetuses disabled can be avoided"]
