Abstract
["By the time the philosophy of the Enlightenment seems to propose a vision of the free world of the ancient fatality and in which the French Revolution turns cyclical time in progressive time, Sade exposes a novelistic imagination denouncing the anthropological optimism and progress of hope. He refuses all providentialism in history, all teleology in nature, but also denounces the faith both in men gathered as the man only. His dark vision would be the equivalent of the state of nature in Rousseau, a theoretical fiction designed to better understand the future of humanity?"]
