Penanganan Problematika Pengemis, Gelandangan dan Orang Terlantar (PGOT) Melalui Bimbingan dan Konseling Islami di Balai Rehabilitasi Sosial “Martani” Cilacap

Abstract

This article discusses the role of Islamic guidance and counseling for beggars, homeless people, and ignored people in Social Rehabilitation Office Martani in Cilacap Central Java. Some of them could utilize some facilities from the government, such as rehabilitation office. The government has made a rule to allow them to stay there and get some trainings for only six months. After they have spent their time in the rehabilitation office, they have to live in the society and use their skills gotten from the trainings in the rehabilitation office to survive. However, what really happen is that most of them just move from one rehabilitation office to another. This research uses descriptive qualitative approach. The research findings show that Islamic guidance and counselling program is able to increase their ability to live better and be independent people.
