Abstract

"There can be no doubt that with a name like Gwynfryn Thomas, I am a Welshman, albeit, a non~Welsh speaking one. This is stated at the start of this piece in order that readers will realize that in all that follows, I write as someone who is proud of being Welsh and thankful that God has called me, at this time, to minister in the Principality. The Revd Dr John Huxtable said, in his Moderatorial Address to the Free Church Federal Council in Eastbourne in March, that "The Church must not behave as if it lives in a museum. It cannot simply go on carefully preserving and lovingly admiring priceless historic items whose usefulness has diminished during the years of their preservation.
