EMPIRICAL VERIFICATION OF MODEL “THE RUSSIAN PSEUDO-MODERNIZATION”
Author(s)Tsygankov Vladislav Vasilievitch
AbstractThe purpose of this article is verification of model of pseudo-modernization which has been offered earlier and which explains cyclic dynamics of transformation of the countries of " the second echelon " to modernization. Way of verification is operationalisation concepts, their transformation into variables with their subsequent comparison on methods of theoretical history. This way allows to reveal greater or smaller conformity of model of a cycle of etatist mobilization of elites to the chosen episodes of history of Russia. In article concepts for the first time are specified: pseudo-modernization, " servitude coalition ". These concepts are presented as parameters with high, average and low numerical value. Transformation of abstract concepts to concrete parameters has allowed to construct a scale of greater or smaller applicability of these concepts to an empirical material. The measure of applicability of concept of "pseudo-modernization" is named in article by " an index of pseudo-modernization". This index is compared to value of variables for a " servitude coalition ". The purpose of comparison - verification of performance of the laws described in offered model of cyclic dynamics of Russia. As result are revealed strong and weaknesses of model of pseudo-modernization which has been offered earlier. High values of parameters « servitude coalition » for a case of Russia in all significant episodes coincide with high values of an index of "pseudo-modernization". It means, that the cycle " from conditional to independent possession of resources of elites " correctly describes effect of "pseudo-modernization". At the same time numerical value of geoeconomic remoteness of Russia not in all cases coincides with value of an index of pseudo-modernization. It means, that the factor of geoeconomic remoteness of the country is not the unique switch from conditional possession of resources to independent.
