AbstractIn the article the concept "money" is presented in Russian and French paremiology, are shown the occurrence, the particularities and the differences of the concept "money" as mental essence of native speakers of French and of Russian, the analysis and the classification of different paremias is carried out. The purpose of our research consisted in studying the ways of “money” concept expression in Russian and French paremiologias for representation of the concept as a fragment of the conceptual picture of the two cultures. We presented the concept "money" in the French and Russian paremias with similarity in judgments or with difference, on the contrary. Thus, we tracked the features and distinctions in proverbial mentality of the two people. We analysed and classified 37 French paremias on the basis of their thematic variety. As a result, we allocated the following groups of paremias containing judgments about money: the first group of paremias is antinomic, i.e. the paremias in which the contradiction in relation to the same situation is traced. The concept "money" is presented in comparison with other concepts in the second group. In the third group the subject of use of money is traced. Comparing these groups of paremias, we identified the distinctions in judgments about money the way the native speakers of French and Russian see them. Therefore, the unique and specific ways of expressing the concept "money" the two languages have been revealed.
