Abstract
This paper would like to present the figure of Kiai Madrais, his thought and teachings, as well as socio-cultural conditions that shape his personality and perspective. It also wants to show that the thought of leaders today considered the founder of Sunda Wiwitan teaching in Kuningan, West Java – is still relevant to criticize the ways and our thinking in the society, nation and religion. In search of the author, Madrais nationalist figure is one of this nation has ever had, but because he understands the history of teaching heresy. Regarding the sources of writing, the author gives more on the narrative portion off spring (grandchildren and great-grandchildren) Madrais, people who still adhere to the teachings of Sunda Wiwitan and society in general who live in Cigugur, then turned writing about Madrais scattered across multiple social networking sites. Author sees them more authority to give an explanation of Madrais and his teachings. The data obtained author then compiled in the form of notes and / or ethnographic reports.
