Abstract

"The following paper by Mr.Coatsraises one of the most vital questions of our public worship. Not only the minister, but the congregation has to be considered. The great problem is, how to conduct congregational worship, as di..;tinguished from priestly worship, in which the minister is the chief figure. How can we provide a sen· ice which is truly congregational, and one in which all can take part? Brethren..:who have any light upon the subject are invited to give us the benefit of their ideas, or, better, send an outline of any service they have found effective, to the Editor, in as brief a space as possible, and as soon as possible"
