Abstract
Based both on recent empirical data from Spain and the results of proper investigations on music as a sociocultural phenomenon, some actual trends in musical consumption, submitted to the cultural dynamics of globalisation within advanced societies, are analysed. Special attention is paid to the cultural effects of popular music in the construction of postmodern identities related with new life-styles as far as they replace those former ones of ethnic and national music. As its consequence, popular music is conceived as an active element in the cultural process, and a critical revision of sociomusicological access from the cultural perspective will be argumented and heightened in accordance with a revised reading of some of the works of Adorno, Blaukopf and others.<br>Partiendo de datos empíricos recientes de España y los resultados de una serie de investigaciones propias sobre la música como fenómeno sociocultural, se analizan algunas tendencias del cambio actual en el consumo musical en el marco de la dinámica cultural de las sociedades avanzadas bajo la influencia de la globalización. Especial interés se presta a la música popular y sus efectos culturales para la construcción de identidades de tipo postmoderno, relacionadas con los nuevos estilos de vida, que sustituyen las anteriores construcciones de la música étnica y nacional. Como consecuencia, se argumenta en pro de considerar la música popular como un factor activo del proceso cultural y de una revisión crítica del enfoque sociomusicológico desde la perspectiva de la cultura, para profundizar en ella a partir de una lectura revisada de algunas de las aportaciones de Adorno, Blaukopf y otros.
