Abstract
[The passage from the book of Hosea which we propose to analyze (Hos 4,1-3) arises from a suffering context in which the prophet denounces the unfaithfulness of Israel in regard to his relationship with his God, that is specifically expressed breach of the principles fundamental to life in society. Israelites kill, steal, bear false witness, commit adultery, take God’s name in vain... So everything is in crisis: the humans and all living creatures of earth, sky and sea. It is therefore a very interesting text for the current context of our day, when the whole ecosystem of the planet is threatened in many ways, because of ambiguous principles which are not relevant to minorities who hold power]
