Abstract
"In this essay I would like to examine migration in light of the incarnation, mission and discipleship. In addition to exploring how a theological approach to migration might give us a new way of understanding this complex and controversial issue, my argument is that the true alien is not the one who does not have official papers but those who are have so disconnected themselves from those in need that they fail to see in the immigrant not only the reflection of Christ but also an image of themselves. Migration in fact is not only a social, political and economic issue but a profound way of thinking about who we are before God and what it means to be human in the world."
