Abstract
"The present article intends. to show that in doctrinaire terms, the Hebrew Bible asserts that God is the absolute principle of life. In second place, in a more phenomenological and historic-social perspective, we try to enhance the subjects of the discourses of the biblical texts in the context of ancient Israel. Finally, we underscore how the absolute principle of the defense of life, as expressed in the commandment not to kill (Ex 20,13), is instrumentally manipulated when the thing is to solve concrete questions which arise in everyday life (Ex 21-23)."
