Abstract
"This essay is an attempt to read Luke 1-2 from an intercultural approximation. Reading and interpreting a scriptural text from this perspective is something new, but is not a new theme in Bible studies. As a reading practice it is necessary to insist on the need for dialogue, something which we are not accustomed to since we ordinarily read and interpret the biblical text as a “mono cultural” legacy. - My pretension is, in the process of studying Luke 1-2, to name some elements which seem to me more fundamental in motivating an intercultural praxis of the text; to look at the text as a cultural expression of different cultures in relation with each other and open transformations or, better still, cultures in constant dialectic tension. I mean, therefore, a practice which affirms us not only as subject of the reading, but primarily leads us to the importance of the dialogue between the text and being subject of inversion in our own cultures."
