The Violence Motives in the Protestant Theology and the Perception of Islamic Terror

Abstract

This article traces the theological roots of religious terror within the Protestant doctrines in the past and the present It points out that Protestant reformers have encouraged the theological violence against their belief opponents. Now; some rather radical Protestant groups are employing terrorist attitudes against their opponents. Also this paper investigates the phopia of Islamic terror in the Christian minds. In Western Christian mind, Islam is described as a main source of the religious terror. In this article it is emphasized that it is so dangerous considering Islam as a source of terrorism since this sort of enterprise animates the historical anxiety about religious terror in the mind of western Christians against the Muslim world
