Abstract
In this article the author analyzes the dialectical character of the focus on the differences between human and divine justice in Karl Barth´s interpretation of the Epistle of Paul to the Romans. Alberto F. Roldán shows how this perspective highlights the place of the Swiss theologian in the Reformed tradition of Luther and Calvin as well as the strong Kierkegaardian influence on his thought in which he emphasizes the contrasts and the paradoxes and the way they are resolved in Jesus Christ. In the final part, Barth’s lack of reflection on the implications of justice in the social and political spheres (which are present in his later works) is questioned."
