Abstract
We seek to recognize and propose the imagination as a fundamental and unavoidable mediation in the rereading of biblical texts. This faculty is absent and denieal in the rational exegesis which has traditionally characterized own manner of comprehending the Bible, it become a political, ethical, spiritual, pedagogical and esthetic action and challenge which condition both the interpretation of biblical texts and also the reconstruction of our identity as peoples, as cultures and as persons (situated in a network of social relation based on differences of gender, age, ethnic group, etc.). We propose, for investigative purposes, a brief reflection on the imagination and its relation the biblical texts. In the last part of the article we shaw a practical exercise of the imagination in the letter to Philemon in order to make visible the children present in the text"
