Abstract
"This article presents the genealogy of Mt 1,1-17 as a code for understanding the God News of Jesus according to Matthew. The four women included by the evangelist in his list are a criticism to the dominant patriarchal society and new proposal for the organization of the human family. Tamar, Rahab, Bathsheba and Rut assume roles that are out of order in relation to the traditional domestic “status”. It is within the limited conventional initiatives of these women that God acts in history to save his people. Therefore it is in this surprising and scandalous manner, that God is working today in history"
