Abstract
"This article discusses the possible meaning of the two breaks in the book of Revelation between the sixth and seventh seal in 7,1-17 and between the sixth and seventh trumpet in 10,1-11,14. It is suggested that these breaks reflect the power of the engaged utopian imagination to interrupt the otherwise relentless logic of political and economic imperialism and the processes of destruction that these produce. The same breaks thus provide the contemporary Latin American reader with a model of social-theological “dreaming” that may help to encourage continuing resistance to the present reign of death at a time said by some to be “postrevolutionary”"
