Abstract
This article presents Luke´s description of the Resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth and takes into account the questions and perspectives that can be posed from an afro-caribean cultural horizon. To accomplish this the author has refler to chapter 24 of Luke´s Gospel as well as some parts of chapter 1 and 2 of the Acts of the Apostles. The intuition which guides the reflection is based on Luke´s liberty and fidelitiy to use the cultural elements of this audience to communicate the essencial elements of the christian faith. Thus it seems feasible to explore the cultural possibilities of the afro-american and caribbean world for the same objectives. This task may turn into a concrete way of collaborating and consolidating the cultural identity of the afro-american, an identity which is responsible for deep processes of resistance and liberation. To apply this method to the Resurrection can become pasionate, since is is will know that the “afro” culture offers rich possibilities that have not yet been tapped"
