Abstract
The Samkhya philosophy had advanced a number of arguments for the existence of Purusa. These arguments are, no doubt, important in the context of the Samkhya philosophy because by the help of these arguments the Samkhya philosopher attempts to establish one of the basic methaphysical entities in tjis philosophy, namely, purusa of the pure conscious subject. In this paper, an examination of these arguments has been done.
