Abstract
["In this issue of the journal Acta Bioethica takes an approach to the issue of new generation Biotechnology: Biotechnology operating with DNA sequences. Since its inception, it has raised fears and generated significant controversy, as evidenced by the fact that already in 1975, when it was an emerging technology, it was decided to perform a moratorium to discuss the risks of working with DNA sequences. Alongside the scientific community fears born the interest of financial markets, as evidenced by the fact that two years after the moratorium, it was the first biotechnology company new generation. This highlights a peculiarity of the development of biotechnology: the establishment of a discipline of scientific and technical knowledge Intimately interwoven with the private economic world."]
