THE IMPLEMENTATION OF PROJECT BASED LEARNING BASED ON 2013 ENGLISH CURRICULUM
AbstractProject Based Learning is an assignment given for the student to be done in certain time. The students complete the content area, individually or in pairs. Project Based Learning is often presented through an oral or written report. The researcher conducted a study about the implementation of Project Based Learning in SMA Islam Batu. In this research, there are one problem of the study to be solved, How does the teacher of SMA Islam Batu implement Project Based Learning for English Subject. This study uses qualitative research design because this study described the social phenomena of Project Based Learning in grade 10 of Social Science of SMA Islam Batu. The researcher uses two informants as the research subject of this study. They are the teacher and the students. The researcher uses the primary instrument and secondary instrument. Primary instrument used for data collection in qualitative research is the researcher him- or herself. The researcher also elaborates the other data gathering techniques such as doing interview, observe the participant, and analysis the document. The study reveal that the English teacher implemented the Project Based Learning through some steps. Thus, the step of teaching the students are : 1) showing the actual invitation letter, 2) asking the students ehat they already know about invitation letter, 3) giving an explanation about parts of an invitation letter, 4) giving a task to matchthe parts of an invitation letter and asking the students to make their own invitation letter. 5) evaluating the material together with the students.
