Abstract
["The accumulation of research and publications on epistemological pluralism is gaining notoriety for at least a decade. Despite the identification of significantly older productions on the topic, global political, economic, and subjective crises that set the tone for the beginning of the 21st century, have possibly shed some light on this issue: the form of knowledge established at least since Enlightenment was no longer able to meet the historical challenges of our times. This article first and briefly presents an interpretative hypothesis of modernity that promotes the understanding of its relationship with colonialism. This stage, based mainly on the historical hermeneutic of Enrique Dussel, is followed by an effort to join the arguments of other postcolonial authors such as Walter Mignolo and Boaventura de Souza Santos, in favor of a epistemological plurality and a proposal to create Southern epistemologies"].
