Reconfiguração da identidade religiosa em contexto migratório [Reconfiguration of religious identity in the migratory context]

Abstract

"O trânsito religioso, entendido como mudança de afiliação religiosa e reconfiguração do paradigma de pertencimento, é um fenômeno cada vez mais comum no Brasil contemporâneo. A identidade religiosa, longe de ser uma herança, é interpretada hoje como uma realidade maleável, transitória, em constante construção e desconstrução. Este artigo visa analisar os fatores que interferem na constante reconfiguração do universo religioso, focando a reflexão principalmente na relação entre mobilidade geográfica – migração – e mobilidade religiosa: de que maneira o deslocamento geográfico afeta a identidade religiosa da pessoa? Partindo de uma pesquisa realizada pelo Centro Scalabriniano de Estudos Migratórios junto a migrantes urbanos em quatro áreas geográficas Caxias do Sul/RS, Aracaju, Manaus e Distrito Federal e entorno – o autor infere que a condição migratória, por diferentes razões, incentiva a reconfiguração da identidade religiosa, tanto no sentido de mudança de afiliação quanto no sentido de redefinição do paradigma de pertencimento". ["The religious transit, understood as a change of religious affiliation and reconfiguration of the paradigm of belonging, is an increasingly common phenomenon in contemporary Brazil. The religious identity, far from being a legacy, is interpreted today as a reality which is malleable, transient, in constant construction and deconstruction. This article aims to analyze factors that have influence on the constant reconfiguration of the religious universe, with special focus on the relation between geographic mobility – migration – and religious mobility: how geographic mobility affects the person’s religious identity? From a research held by CSEM (Centro Scalabriniano de Estudos Migratórios) with urban migrants in four geographic areas - Caxias do Sul/RS, Aracaju, Manaus e Distrito Federal and surroundings – the author infers that the migratory condition, due to different reasons, encourages the religious identity reconfiguration, in the sense both of affiliation change and redefinition of the paradigm of belonging".]
