This scientific communication, developed into a formal text, discusses how human beings relate to texts (and other diverse representations) that are considered divine. The author interprets the forms of reading based on a re-reading of iconoclast, iconophile, and iconolatric perspectives. The text questions fundamentalism’s modern identification with any kind of sacralization process (iconoclasm) and the rejection of the task of critical interpretation of the text through hermeneutical methods based on the conviction about the sacred character of the text (iconolatry). Iconophily offers a way of describing a relationship that promotes and requires a responsible and judicious reading that allows the message to be taken to life"]
