O reino é de Deus [The Kingdom is of God]

Abstract

"Este artigo realça aspectos da vida de Jesus – como a espiritualidade, a concepção escatológica e os conflitos por ele vividos – tendo em vista questionar as ênfases sacrificialistas presentes no cristianismo. Destaca também a soberania de Deus expressa na mensagem de Jesus, a pregação do futuro como relativização dos projetos intra-históricos, e a relação entre a mensagem do Reino de Deus e a morte de Jesus. Nesse aspecto, a cruz é enfatizada, como resultado do processo de posicionamento político/religioso de Jesus ao longo de sua vida – diferentemente das interpretações sacrificialistas que surgiram ao longo da história da Igreja. A cruz de Jesus, o Cristo, possibilita significado para o despojamento humano, autodoação, solidariedade e vida de serviço e de alegria" ["This article brings to one’s attention aspect of the life of Jesus—such as his spirituality, his eschatological conceptions, and the conflicts he lived through—with a view to questioning the sacrificialist emphases which are present in Christianity. It also highlights the sovereignty of God which is expressed in Jesus’ message, the preaching of the future as a relativization of intra-historic projects, and the relation between the message of the Kingdom of God and the death of Jesus. In this aspect, the cross is emphasized as the result of a process of politico-religious positioning on the part of Jesus throughout his life—in a manner different from the sacrificialist intepretations which have arisen throughout the history of the Church. The cross of Jesus, the Christ, gives a possible meaning to human renunciation, self-giving, solidarity, and a life of service and joy"]
