Abstract
Based on an analysis of the “ideal image” and the “real life” of woman in the middle Ages, the author takes into account the role of women in the medieval society. The issue of medieval women’s access to education is particularly tacked, depending on the various social strata they belonged to. Finally, the question of female consecrated life in the Middle Ages and the position of medieval women as writers and masters of spirituality is pondered"]
