Abstract
"In contemporary society consumption expenditure has unprecedented increased around the world; however, this increase in material well-being has not significantly impacted on people’s happiness. This paper explores the need to change the ethical approach underlying the everyday consumption in order to increase the positive impact of consumption on people's happiness level, and it proposes to regain the social doctrine of the Church, which provides both moral standards and practical patterns of action in order to work out a deontological code for consumer."
