Una lectura antropológica de La II conferencia general del Episcopado latinoamericano [An Anthropological Reading of the Second General Conference of Latin American Bishops]

Abstract

"Uno de los grandes aportes de la iglesia peregrinante en América Latina para todo el resto de las iglesias fue haber puesto en el centro de su qué hacer teológico y pastoral el problema del hombre latinoamericano. Y no en un orden especulativo sino con una agudeza práctica que todavía sigue iluminando a nuestra iglesia particular en América Latina y es referente para las reflexiones de otros continentes, incluido el nuevo momento que se vive en el primer mundo. Este artículo nos sugiere todo el camino, pedregoso, que esta intuición tuvo que seguir antes de la Conferencia de Medellín, a partir del Concilio Vaticano II, en el contexto inmediato de la conferencia, por las circunstancias particulares del momento y después de la conferencia, por los senderos que trazó para todo los creyentes latinoamericanos." "One of the major contributions given by the pilgrim Church in Latin America to the other Churches has been centering her theological thinking and pastoral care on the issue of the Latin American person. It is not carried out on a speculative level butwith a practical acuteness which is still illuminating our particular Church in Latin America, becoming a reference for other continents, even the FirstWorld under the new circumstances. This article describes for us the rough road travelled by this institution before the Conference of Medellín, after the Council of Vatican II, in the immediate context caused by the prevailing circumstances and also in the aftermath of the Conference, following thus a path cleared for all the Latin American believers."
