Abstract

"La interrogación que nos sirve de exergo da el tono de cuanto se dirá a continuación. Ella indica la óptica en que se encarará el tema propuesto: visión hermenéutica, propia de un pensador cristiano, que es consciente de situarse "bajo el techo de la Iglesia" (Karl Barth), más concretamente en el contexto actual de una Iglesia que, en camino hacia el tercer milenio, pretende establecer un diálogo con el mundo y, en especial, con el mundo de la cultura. No se trata, por tanto, de una perspectiva exclusivamente histórica, sea de historia de la Iglesia o de historia de las doctrinas medievales, sino de una visión más adecuada a un profesional de la teología que intenta pensar hoy, respetando su riqueza y de manera articulada, las relaciones entre "Iglesia, Cultura y Universidad". A lo que importa agregar que, si el contexto nos abrió la mirada hacia una perspectiva de futuro, el mismo tema, en el curso de la reflexión, nos la extendió retrospectivamente hacia el pasado, dando al discurso un carácter autobiográfico.
