AbstractThe article studies Lithuanian Secular Franciscans Order activities in USA and Canada during the period 1940- 1990. First, the establishment of St. Casimir province founded by Lithuanians OFS in USA is described; later OFS administration is reviewed. "St. Francis Varpelis" was restored and newly published at the end of 1941 and it had a great importance for the Order's administration and spiritual growth. Moreover, spiritual exaltation and activities were reinforced by regional conferences and congregation visits; Lithuanians OFS were also influenced by USA secular franciscans congresses. During tsarist oppression period, in Lithuania OFS were active Lithuanian catholic publication readers, book smugglers and promoters. Likewise, when soviets occupied Lithuania, in America they united into catholic assemblies that initiated printing-houses and published catholic newspapers, books. As a result, OFS activities in USA, Canada, and Lithuania helped to preserve faith, Lithuanian traditions, nationality, and overall contributed towards Lithuania's independence.
