Abstract

"El interés por los seminarios formaba parte de uno de los rubros del censo religioso ordenado por el Gobierno Nacional Delegado en 18S41 • Allí se preguntaba: "El estado del seminario conciliar; sus rentas, cátedras y número de seminaristas; en caso de no existir, causas que provocan su inexistencia". Las respuestas elaboradas por los Vicarios Capitulares no fueron lo preciso ni lo extenso como lo deseaban los hombres del gobierno. ¿Era ello consecuencia del relativo interés de los hombres de Iglesia por el papel asignado a esa institución eclesiástica? Creemos, a juzgar por las respuestas enviadas que ellas reflejan un grado de apatía o ablandamiento de la situación religiosa que se padecía en el momento de celebrarse el censo religioso. El abandono en que se hallaban los seminarios desde el movimiento de Mayo parecía justificar la imprecisión de las respuestas y la escasa importancia que parecían otorgar a toda posibilidad de llevar a cabo el renacimiento de los mismos" ["Interest in the seminars was part of one of the items religious census ordered by the Chief Government in 18S41 • There is wondering : " The state of the seminary ; their income , and number of seminarians chairs , in case of absence , causes of their absence .
