Abstract

"Com o surgimento das ciências da religião no século XIX, e seu largo desenvolvimento no ambiente de pesquisa, surge também um novo desafio para o pensamento filosófico ocidental, visto que, de aqui em diante, ele irá esbarrar numa vasta paisagem do fenômeno religioso situado para além das fronteiras já conhecidas. Este artigo pretende mostrar o novo material fornecido pelas religiões orientais, que atualmente se inserem no contexto ocidental e exigem, principalmente da filosofia uma nova atitude de pensar sobre a transcendência e o religioso".
