Developing Business Ethics as an academic field

Rossouw, Deon (BEN-Africa, 2004-04-01)
This book produced frameworks and guidelines for developing business ethics as an academic field. It started with a framework for mapping out the scope of this field in terms of both its area of study and the purpose thereof. In the discussion of its purpose emerged the normative-descriptive rift which characterises this field, and consequently guidelines for dealing with it were developed. Against this backdrop similar frameworks were developed for conceptualising the three major areas of activity within this field, namely research, teaching and interaction. Also with regard to contentious issues relating to these three areas, guidelines for dealing with such issues were proposed. Finally, guidelines were offered for institutionalising these activities so that they become well-established on the academic landscape, whilst also fulfilling the purpose of this field.

Responsible Leadership

Stueckelberger, Christoph; Mugambi, Jesse N. K. (Globethics.net / WCC Publications, 2007)
Leadership models and values change in a fast changing globalized world. The responsible use of power is a key factor to good governance and a human life in dignity in all sectors of society. How can the respect for the cultural and religious diversity of values be combined with common perspectives of responsible leadership in the one world? In forty contributions, ethicists and other experts from 21 countries from five continents give surprising and challenging answers in four areas: family leadership, religious leadership, business leadership and political leadership. A reader for church and business leaders, for politicians and journalists, for teachers, students and scholars - and parents.

Responsible Leadership Handbook

Stückelberger, Christoph (Globethics.net, 2014)
"Responsible leadership is a key factor for performance, success, credibility, reputation and sustainability of each leader and organisation. Responsible leadership in this book means the values-driven use of power in order to define and reach ethical goals for all human beings and the whole creation and to implement the defined values. This book is based on Christian values and can be easily adapted for other religious or nonreligious leadership trainings. This handbook offers ethical and spiritual reflections and practical checklists, an ethics code of leadership and five modules for training of staff and board members."

Ethics in Politics

Girardin, Benoît (Globethics.net, 2012)
This book is an affirmation: Yes, ethics in politics is possible – and it pays off. It is not a naive dream. The author chooses a pragmatic approach and tests whether value orientation can make a difference in politics and how. He presents practical cases and outlines criteria for dealing with dilemmas. He singles out four fundamental ethical values to achieve: limitation of power, effectiveness, accountability and justice.
