Abstract
["The study of the multifarious imaginary of death is not only fundamental for the research in terms of Comparative Religion in general but can contribute to a more profound understanding of the religiousness of Brazilian people in particular. Referring to author’s fieldworks in Sao Paulo, the article relates specific customs and rites in dealing with death to the overall social surroundings in this Brazilian city".]
