Abstract
Primeiro, a grande teoria sociológica. ["This essay is a response to two bodies of " grand theories " . First , the great sociological theory . The sociology of religion is still decisively consisting of a large number of theories. These theories relate religion to some aspects of modernization in an attempt to explain and predict the fate of religion . However, as discussed at length in a chapter in the book of Dick Fenn , Blackwell Companion to the Sociology of Religion (2001 ) , one thing that all great theories have in common is that they do not account for the gender issue . What they say about modern society and religion is assumed to apply to all human beings without distinction. I want to challenge that assumption because it fails to recognize that women do not necessarily occupy the same social space nor participate in the same social institutions as men , and that even if they do , they often do differently".]
