Abstract
[" The late reception of Aristotle´s Politics allows us to verify the presence of a naturalistic discourse as the ground of the political sphere. One representative premise of this naturalistic discourse is the one that states that man is political by nature. Thomas Aquinas assumes this naturalistic foundation knowing that this new discourse seems to confront with some Augustinian theses. Indeed, the Augustinian theses suggest a tight bond between the political dimension and the fallen nature. In this paper I intend to point out the importance of this confrontation which tries to reestablish the natural dimension, and to analyze some projections of this change of perspective, specially in Marsilius of Padua".]
