Abstract
During recent months has been the frequent use of terms like "indigenous emergency" in the media and academics to refer to events that have taken place in Bolivia . Indeed , something happens and has happened in Bolivia although not as recent despite being relatively new phenomenon. Although Evo Morales 's victory in the elections of December 18 has caused international attention focuses on the political and organizational processes focused on indigenous identity 1 the truth is that these processes are the result of a process involving three decades. A process on which to reflect if you consider that virtually for some 200 years - perhaps the last significant reference in this respect is the siege of La Paz in 1781 - were not produced in Bolivia ( or the rest of the central Andean region ) organizational processes based on the claim of the original identities"]
