Abstract
La ventaja de los AVAD es que nos permiten cuantificar no sólo el número de defunciones sino también las consecuencias de las muertes prematuras y las discapacidades en una determinada población, combinando ambos factores en un solo indicador de la carga global de morbilidad" ["Thanks to mortality statistics, we know that during the last century life expectancy has increased as a man he had never done, although not always been so 'for the world's poor, who are easily succumbing to the usual deadly diseases. Through instruments such as DALYs (years of life adjusted disability) we can analyze not so much the manner of death as the way of life of the people. The advantage of DALYs is that not only allow us to quantify the number of deaths but also the consequences of premature death and disability in a population, combining both factors in a single indicator of the global burden of disease"]
