Abstract
INDONESIA:
 
 Pembelajaran IPA tema ekosistem di SDN Merjosari 2 Malang menunjukkan bahwa siswa belum dapat sepenuhnya memahami konsep tentang ekosistem karena metode yang digunakan guru masih cenderung memindahkan konsep-konsep yang terdapat di dalam buku, selain itu bahan ajar yang digunakan sekolah masih dinilai kurang lengkap dalam memberikan penjelasan mengenai materi. Oleh karena itu perlu adanya bahan ajar pendamping yang mampu menyajikan bentuk yang menarik dari materi itu sendiri, seperti perluasan materi serta gambar yang jelas. Tujuan penelitian adalah (1) untuk menghasilkan produk berupa bahan ajar pendamping tematik terpadu IPA berbasis gambar tema ekosistem, (2) menjelaskan efektifitas dan kemenarikan bahan ajar, (3) menjelaskan peningkatan pemahaman siswa melalui penggunaan bahan ajar pendamping tematik terpadu IPA berbasis gambar.
 
 Penelitian pengembangan ini menggunakan jenis penelitian pengembangan Reserch and Development (R & D), yang mengadaptasi dari model Dick and Carrey. Prosedur pengembangan yang dilakukan yaitu, (1) mengidentifikasi KI dan KD, (2) mengidentifikasi indikator pembelajaran, (3) mengidentifikasi tingkah laku awal, (4) menulis tujuan pembelajaran, (5) mengembangkan tes evaluasi, (6) mengembangkan strategi pengajaran, (7) mengembangkan dan memilih bahan ajar, (8) merancang dan melaksanakan tes formatif, (9) revisi pengajaran, (10) menulis bahan ajar.
 
 Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, (1) pengembangan bahan ajar ini telah menghasilkan produk berupa buku pendampng tematik terpadu IPA berbasis gambar tema ekosistem, (2) bahan ajar yang dikembangkan memiliki tingkat keefektifan dan kemenarikan dengan presentase yang diperoleh yaitu 82,5% dinyatakan sangat efektif dan menarik bagi responden penelitian karena memiliki desain sampul dan tata letak yang menarik, gambar yang beragam, kegiatan latihan dan pengamatan yang mudah dilakukan dan dapat membantu siswa memahami materi, (3) bahan ajar dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa kelas V di SDN Merjosari 2 Malang karena bahan ajar dilengkapi dengan gambar serta perluasan materi dan kegiatan pengamatan yang dapat memotivasi dan membantu siswa memahami materi lebih dalam.
 
 ENGLISH:
 
 This development research is motivated by the fact that the learning ecosystem theme based interviews to the class teacher SDN Merjosari 2 Malang, teachers say that students can not fully understand the concept of the ecosystem due to the method used by teachers still tend to move the concepts contained in the book, in addition to The school used textbooks still considered incomplete in providing an explanation of the matter. Hence the need for a companion textbook that is able to present an attractive form of matter itself, such as the expansion of matter and clear images.
 
 The research objective is (1) to produce a product in the form of integrated thematic companion textbookimage based theme ecosystems, (2) explain the attractiveness of textbooks, (3) explain the increase students' understanding through the use of integrated thematic companion textbook imagesbased.
 
 The development of research using this type of research development Reserch and Development (R&D), which is adapted from the model of Dick and Carrey. Namely the development of procedures performed, (1) identify the core competencies and basic competencies, (2) identify indicators of learning, (3) identify initial behavior, (4) writing learning objectives, (5) developing the evaluation test, (6) develop teaching strategies, (7) develop and selecting textbooks, (8) to design and implement formative tests, (9) the revision of teaching, (10) wrote a textbook.
 
 The results showed that, (1) the development of this text have produced in the form of thematic companion book theme image based integrated ecosystem, (2) textbooks which have been developed with the level of attractiveness of the percentage obtained by the 82.5% of respondents expressed very interesting for research because it has a cover design and layout is interesting, diverse images, activities and observation exercises are easy to do and can help students understand the material, (3) the results of tests students' understanding represents an average
 
 post-test control group and the experimental group 78.6 87.2 and the t-test manual obtained t> t table is 5.954> 2.110. Thus, there is a significant difference to the textbook developed. This shows that textbooks can improve the understanding of the concept of fifth grade students at SDN Merjosari 2 Malang because the textbook is equipped with an image as well as the expansion of matter and observation activities that can motivate and help students understand the material more deeply.
