Abstract
["The author (Nobel Prize for medicine in 1995) explains in this book how life in the moment of fertilization arises and how it develops in the womb. Nüsslein -Volhard studied Biology , Chemistry, Physics and Biochemistry , and since 1985 the director of the Max Planck Institute for Biology in Tübingen , Germany. His forte is the study of the influence of genetics in the embryonic development of the fetus. The first chapter is introductory and deals with the theory of evolution, understood as a general framework in which all contemporary biology moves and therefore genetics and embryology. Below explains the fundamentals of cell and molecular biology. Follow two chapters intended to explain how genes control embryonic development to generate the morphology of each species. And then discusses some of the most important cellular processes involved in the formation and morphological patterns in embryonic development".]
