Abstract
"Se define médicamente a la anticoncepción o "contracepción de emergencia" como "el uso de métodos para evitar el embarazo después de haber tenido relaciones sexuales sin la protección adecuada "1 o como aquellos "métodos que la mujer puede usar luego de un coito para prevenir el embarazo 112,3. También ha sido llamada "anticoncepción postcoital" o "píldora del día siguiente"2. Son varios los regímenes que pueden utilizarse en este sentid04: a) combinación de estrógenos y progestágenos sintéticos, b) estrógenos sintéticos solamente, c) dispositivos intrauterinos, d) progestágenos sintéticos solamene) danazol, f) antipreg-esterónicos (mifepristone). Si bien el primero que fue descripto fue la utilización de elevadas dosis de estrógenos sintéticos, el primero que fue ampliamente usado fue una combinación de estrógenos y progestágenos sintéticos administrados por vía oral".
