Abstract
The European Group on Ethics in Science and NewTechnologies (EGE) is preparing an Opinion on Ethics ofmodern developments inagriculture technologies (Opinion 24). As part of its preparatory work the EGE held an open round-table debate on the issues related to animal cloning for food supply. The round table was organised by the Bureau of European Policy Advisers (BEPA). Themain goal of this event was to allow stakeholders to provide the EGE with relevant data, considerations and viewpoints for the finalisation of Opinion 24, which is to be published at the end of 2008.
