Abstract

The European Parliament adopted the audiovisual Media services directive (AVMSD) in December 2007 (European Parliament and the Council, 2007). In this chapter I examine how the audiovisual Media services directive handles new technological innovations. After a brief examination of the text of the directive, I focus on the potential implementations of the rules concerning on-demand services.
